Additional Information

When your doctor prescribes a drug, you trust that they have your best health interests in mind. While this is usually true, there are times when doctors prescribe drugs that cause debilitating side effects, or even death.

Doctors aren’t solely to blame when defective drugs cause problems. Pharmaceutical companies sometimes rush drugs to the marketplace without taking the time to perform exhaustive tests of their shot and long-term side effects. Even the FDA makes mistakes, like when they approve a drug based on faulty or misleading information that was presented by the pharmaceutical company that manufactured it.

So, while doctors may prescribe a drug believing that it will help a patient, they may find out later that its long-term side effects cause sickness, injury, or death to their patients. The damage wrought by drugs can include heart attacks, strokes, embolisms, and other health issues that may be less dramatic but no less debilitating.

At Ketterman Rowland & Westlund, we understand that when health problems arise because of defective drugs, more than just your trust has been violated. The health complications you suffer are very real, so you need to protect yourself with help from our team of San Antonio defective drug attorneys.

DUI accident statistics paint an ugly picture in our beautiful state. Every 29 minutes, someone is injured or killed in a DUI accident somewhere on a Texas roadway. That sobering number equates to 1,259 fatalities caused by negligent drunk drivers, making Texas the nation’s leader in auto accident fatalities involving the consumption of alcohol.

You can read those numbers over and over again and they will have little impact, unless you suddenly find yourself on the receiving end of a drunk driver’s selfish actions. It is then you realize that you are far more than a statistic, and that every single person affected by a drunk driver is a shattered life, fragmented family, or life cut far too short.

Punishing persons who commit crimes is an essential aspect of the law, but the Criminal Court System seems reluctant to hand down sentences that reflect the horrific nature of DUI crimes. In many cases, the only real way to punish the guilty is to look to the Civil Court System for punitive damages.

This is where your San Antonio DUI Accident Attorney comes into play. Not only will your attorney from Ketterman Rowland & Westlund aggressively fight for your just compensation, success also includes a message of no-tolerance to guilty drunk drivers before they have the chance to hurt someone else.
