Additional Information

As a family, Brian and Chrissy have three instances where Ady disappeared from their sight. On one occasion, Ady’s mom was walking through the house when she saw the front door open. Unclear as to which way to run, she turned to the left and as she did, saw Ady sitting in a driveway full of pebbles, feeling them sift through her hands.

These were the same pebbles that had frustrated Chrissy countless times as she attempted to coax Ady into the car or on a walk. To this day those pebbles serve as a grateful reminder of autistic childrens' need to be safe and protected. The goal of Ady’s Barracks is to protect children and ease the tension creating safe spaces can cause. We hope to provide fences for families so that they can rest easy knowing their children are safe.

Product and Services

Ady’s Wings is an area where Chrissy, Ady’s mom, is especially passionate. She understands the frustration that comes when visits to a local doctor give little hope for change. She also knows the toll travel for those hope-filled answers can take, from dietary restrictions to expensive hotel stays and transportation costs. Most autistic children are wading daily through a sea of sensory stimulation, and travel on commercial airlines can become almost impossible.

Ady’s Wings aims to cover travel costs associated with autism care, and has partnered with fellow non-profit Angel Flight to provide free air travel for Ady’s Army families. When parents and caregivers realize the freedom they have to find the best options available, it gives them wings.

Seventy percent of children with autism also have seizures, and a canine companion can be life-saving for them. Dogs serve as dual protectors for autistic children, providing parents with seizure alerts and assistance as they lay on children during a seizure.

They also serve as a steady companion and anchor point in case a child tries to flee. As a companion, dogs provide much needed pressure if a child is overwhelmed or aggressive, and are trained to track a child’s scent if they become lost. Studies show that service dogs can even cut down on bullying at school. However, the cost for these dogs can be expensive, costing upward of $20,000.00. Ady’s Paws aims to equip families with the canine help they need, no financial burden attached.
