Additional Information
EVAPORATIVE COOLERS
Many modern buildings require cooling either for the comfort of the occupants or to protect the processes or equipment they contain. There are three typical methods which can be employed to cool these buildings; ventilation, evaporative cooling or a refrigeration based air conditioning system. The choice of system can have a dramatic effect on the total carbon emissions of the building and the energy consumed due to their different electrical demands.
Ventilation systems can provide comfort cooling for most of the year. During prolonged periods of high temperatures they are unable to maintain internal temperatures below 25°C. Refrigeration based systems are effective but can be expensive to operate. Evaporative cooling, which can produce air consistently below 22°C in the UK climate, provides an intermediate solution which consumes only a fraction of the electricity.
Product and Services
Electrical
This division carries out the full range of electrical work, supporting our air conditioning and heat pump installers together with stand alone electrical projects.
Our NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) Approved Contractor and Domestic Installer status assures clients that our work is regularly supervised and carried out in accordance with Building Regulation requirements.
At our Energy Efficiency Centre Showroom, we stock a comprehensive range of tp24 LED and CFL energy saving lamps to suit most lampholders. We also supply, and fit if required, the full range of tp24 decorative light fittings designed for both domestic and small commercial settings.
Heat Pump Heating
It is a sad fact that climate change is happening and this poses a huge threat to our world. The major cause of this is the release of greenhouse gasses. In the UK the energy supplies are the largest single contributor.
To help reduce global warming we must reduce our Carbon Dioxide (Co2) emissions by using cleaner methods of generation and using energy more efficiently. Using a heat pump system to heat your home greatly reduces the energy required. This can be by up to 75% thus reducing Co2 emissions.
Plumbing
The Plumbing Team at Griffiths are an integral part of installing and maintaining Daikin Altherma air source heat pumps. In addition though, they also install complete central heating systems including Polypipe underfloor heating, bathrooms, hot and cold water services, rainwater recycling systems and all the plumbing requirements of commercial buildings.
Servicing
Regular servicing of Daikin Altherma air source heat pumps and air conditioning systems is vitally important to keep them working at optimum efficiency and check for possible leaks of refrigerant gas.
The GRIFFITHS Servicing Team are committed to provide the very best customer after-care with service and maintenance packages tailored to provide the right solution for each individual customer, be they a single homeowner or a large multi-national organisation. Although predominately geared for heat pumps and air conditioning, our servicing packages can also incorporate other areas of building services maintenance including electrical, gas, plumbing and ventilation.
