Decorating a house is not just a job for her but in easy words it can be called passion and something that is interested to her most. If you want to try a new vision and style for your home then objects of Interest is the place for you. From inside to out she does know to find special that is a statement in itself. Objects of Interest is the result of Cynthia Pohio’s passion for sourcing wonderfully unique pieces and finding homes for them with people who appreciate their beauty. Growing up in Tasmania where antiques and beautiful old buildings were abundant, she found a love of collecting and restoring antiques from a young age.

At the young age of 21 Cynthia bought a cottage built in 1880 and set to work renovating it on her own. Her love and experience with all natural materials only continued to grow.“I love all natural materials stone, timber and iron, and the patina that comes with age. There is nothing more beautiful than a piece of timber or stone worn smooth with age.

This passion drew Cynthia to the decorating industry where she has worked since the 1980s, managing the first Laura Ashley store in Brisbane in 1984, back when Laura Ashley herself was still a part of the business. In the early 90s she ran an antique and home wares store in the stunning Blue Mountains.

While working in the decorating industry she has also kept up her own personal projects. Cynthia designed her current home and recently oversaw the building of her delightfully French styled barn. For years she has been developing a formal garden with a European flair, making use of convict sandstone from around Australia, iron work from Europe, and sourcing old iron gates from an old convent in Adelaide.Cynthia has put a lot of time, thought and effort into her home’s individual style, and endeavours to find unique pieces so you can develop your home’s personal style.
