BF Engineering Services (BFES) was founded in 2000 by Eddie Barlow, a qualified mechanical and electrical engineer with many years experience in the commercial and industrial kitchen business. Eddie as MD is supported by high calibre personnel whose mission is to always provide a high standard of customer service at the best price possible.
The senior personnel supporting the MD Eddie Barlow at BFES include: Liz Coombes, the Finance and Administration Manager, whose job it is to reduce BFES overheads so that we can keep our prices competitive for our clients
Ed Barlow, the Service Manager, whose extensive IT knowledge enables BFES to provide clients with high quality customer service;Chris Kidd the Head of Equipment Sales and Projects whose experience ranges from small fast food outlets to school kitchens and Ascot Race Course's kitchens.Originally known as the ‘commercial kitchen doctors’ BFES has expanded quickly based on our reputation for understanding the catering industry and attention to detail. Knowing and understanding how equipment works rather than simply swapping expensive components to solve a problem, we have been able to save our clients money, provide advice and reduce their downtime, often fixing problems on our first call out.
Our reputation for reliability, safety and technical expertise has attracted work within a number of “UK first” specialist projects helping us to forge exclusive partnerships with well-known and well-respected equipment manufacturers, so we can offer our clients the best solutions available for their budget, space and requirements.Although we have grown we haven’t forgotten our founding principles of quality. We recognise the importance of selecting employees who are dedicated to delivering a first class standard of service to our clients and happy to stay up to date with the latest products.
Obtaining Investors in People, ISO certification, and having a Design Manager who gained one of the Country’s first Masters in International Hospitality Design and Management Consultancy qualifications, as well as our insistence that BFES Engineers, Designers and Project Management personnel are all in house, has ensured we continue to offer a complete solution to benefit our customers.
