Nick Ryan Motor Works was established by myself in December 2007, I am a fully qualified vehicle technician with 25 years experience in the motor trade. I acquired the necessary qualifications at Cambridge Regional College in 1987 whilst completing a 4 year apprenticeship for a small local garage. I then went travelling and worked for BMW in Dubai for 3 years and also studied in Florida for 3 months at AMI (American marine institute) where I qualified as a personal watercraft technician. On my return to the UK I worked as a master technician for a Rover main dealer in Cambridge, mainly dealing with engine management and other electronic systems, but also carrying out routine maintenance and servicing. I moved to Brighton in 1999 and worked for 2 separate independant garages before opening my own business in 2007.I pride myself on a high standard of workmanship and believe that doing the job right the first time is the only way. I work in a clean and professional environment on all makes and models of vehicles. I carry out all aspects of vehicle servicing for the old and new, I have all the manufactures servicing schedules to hand so I know what needs doing and when, having all the necessary tools and knowledge to perform any type of services at a fraction of main dealer prices.New car servicing-the facts-2003 european legislation states that servicing for any make or model can be carried out at any independent garage and your warranty is not invalidated. Products relating to servicing and repairs are in line with the best enviromental practice ensuring protection and conservation of the enviroment.offer many different repairs to my customers, having spent many years in my apprenticeship completing restoration work on classic vehicles my welding and fabrication work is of a very high standard, I offer all mot failure repairs inc the mot itself, all suspension work inc shock absorbers, tyres, exhausts, cambelts and clutches etc. I have extensive knowledge of vehicle electrics and electronics, using the leading make of diagnostic tool on the market, i am able to work with engine management faults, anti-lock brake systems, air bag and all other auxiliary systems.MOT tests can be carried out on your car up to one month prior to the expiry date of an existing UK MOT. On passing the MOT, you will then receive a certificate valid from the date of expiry of your existing MOT. I offer a pre MOT inspection where upon the vehicle is given a half hour examination to make sure the vehicle will pass the MOT, any work needed for the MOT will be discussed with the customer before the work is carried out.In January 2012 there will be changes to the MOT, one of these changes will be that no warning lights on your vehicle display can be illuminated, so if your air bag, engine management or anti-locking brake warning lights are on all the time then thats a failure, so part of the pre MOT inspection I will diagnose these faults for you.
