The Cycle
In the vapor-compression refrigeration cycle, heat is transferred from a lower temperature source to a higher temperature heat sink. Heat naturally flows in the opposite direction, and due to the second law of thermodynamics work is required to move heat from cold to hot. A food refrigerator or freezer works in much the same way; it moves heat out of the interior into the room in which it stands.
Absorption Air Conditioning
High Efficiency Gas Fired Air Cooled Absorption Water Chillers.
Our Robur appliances are single effect High Efficiency Water Chillers incorporating an air cooled condenser for outdoor installation.
The ACF chiller uses the absorption refrigeration cycle, with a working fluid consisting of Ammonia and water to produce chilled water down to +4oC. The absorption cycle is powered by the heat of either Natural Gas or LPG and the Ammonia/water cycled is a completely sealed circuit.
Water and Ammonia
The working fluid is mixture of 2/3 water and 1/3 ammonia. The water is the absorption fluid and ammonia is the refrigerant. Ammonia diluted into the water is absolutely safe and in comparison with other refrigerants has the following advantages.
100% Green, Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) = 0
Global Warming Potential (GWP) = 0
Does not provoke the green house effect
Its thermodynamic performance is among the best when compared to other fluids.
Proven technology with over 30 years of operation in the field
The Modular Approach
The ACF chiller is produced in a single module of 18kW, any number of units can be connected together to form a multi-unit module, the only limit is the available space for the equipment. Standard factory assembled modules are available with the following cooling capacities.
RTCF-120 = 36kW
RTCF-180 = 54kW
RTCF-240 = 72kW
RTCF-300 = 90kW
RTCF-360 = 108kW
Refrigerants Explained
Chlorofluorocarbons - CFC's
Current legislation banned the production of CFC's for use in the European Union from the end of 1994 with exemptions for essential use, which are mainly pharmaceutical applications. The existing European Regulation No. 3093/94, dated 15th December 1994, did not contain controls on stockpiles or supplies of CFC's from recycling and reclamation.
Boiler Replacements
Please contact our office for further details.
We have the capabilities to replace all types of heating boilers from a simple domestic boiler to large industrial boilers.
For example, we have replaced for one client 6MW of Gas Fired Boilers and associated flue connections.
