Additional Information

Acupuncture is a practice of insertion very thin sterile needles through skin at therapeutic points on your body. When performed by trained, certified, and licensed professionals, acupuncture is very safe with minimal complications or side effects. Acupuncture promotes natural healing by balancing the flow of energy (known as Qi) along the pathway (meridians). When the pathway get obstructed or stagnated or out of balance, that is when you feel pain, get sick, did not feel well, etc. Inserting needles into strategic points are just like inserting a key to open/close the door of health.? Please see the video below to have more information about acupuncture.

Moxibustion (moxa) is a method of applying a heat stimulus to the body by burning the dried and sifted leaf particles from the herb mugwort on or close to the skin, with the aim of promoting the body’s ability to heal itself. When use moxa for treatment, it is placed (directly/indirectly) on top of the treatment areas and burned it to transfer heat into the therapeutic points.

Moxa is a part of acupuncture treatment that aims to bring heat directly into the body. It is used to treat very effective for many conditions and diseases including cold or poor blood flow, muscle stiffness, headaches, tendonitis, arthritis, digestive disorders, anxiety, and female health problems such as menstrual cramps, irregular periods, and infertility.

Gua sha is an ancient healing technique involves repeated pressured strokes over lubricated skin on the back, limbs, and other parts of the body. The area to be treated is first lubricated with massage oil or vaseline, then scraped with the edge of a ceramic spoon or similar object. The scraped area will create red patches on skin after treatment, but it will fade within few days. Gua sha is usually applied typically in the area of pain or on the back parallel to the spine. Moxa can be used safely and effectively for almost all patients. However, it is used with caution for the following conditions: diabetes patients, pregnancy, hungry, overeaten, or intoxicated.

Cupping is a suction technique using glass, bamboo, or plastic “cups” on the skin to pull toxin build-up and muscle spasm out of the deeper tissue of the body, towards the surface of the body. When we feel “pain,” tenderness, or discomfort, there is some physiologic blockage in the flow of energy. The more blockage, the harder it is for the body to remove the obstruction and discomfort.

Cupping could be used all over the body to invigorate blood flow and to relieve tension and pain. It also brings fresh new blood into that blocked area. Changes in stiffness, pain and mobility can often be seen immediately. It is often use for treating muscle, menstrual, or joint pain. Helps relieve acute illnesses such as common cold, headaches, boost immunity, and energy. The procedure usually last about 5 - 15 minutes depending on the technique used.

In case of pregnancy, bleeding disorder, diabetic neuropathy, or open wounds, cupping cannot be used. Because the suction draw fresh blood to the external capillaries, it may be result in bruise or red patch on the skin. It is a normal response, and it will fade within few days. Same as Gua Sha, It is recommended that patients should avoid from exercise on the day of treatment.

Gua sha is a part of acupuncture therapy. It increases blood flow (microcirculation) in the soft tissue, stimulates the body’s natural pain-relieving opioid systems, and it may block the pain response pathways so you feel pain relief. Gua sha is especially effective during cold and flu season. It is wonderful at treating stiff upper necks and backs, as well as extremely tight muscles. It is recommended that patients refrain from exercise on the day of procedure.

Product and Services

acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, gua-sha, moxa, e-stim acupuncture, ear and scalp acupuncture.hinese herbal medicine is a major aspect of traditional Chinese medicine, which focuses on restoring a balance of energy, body, and spirit to maintain health rather than treating a particular disease or medical condition. Most diseases or illnesses present with a core set of recognizable signs and symptoms, but the actual presentation of a particular disease or illness will vary from person to person. For this reason, people with similar health conditions may be prescribed a Chinese herbal formula that specifically matches and treats his/her

individual health problem. As your condition changes and improves with treatment, the Chinese herbal treatment is also adjusted and modified until the desired health outcome is achieved.Chinese herbal medicines are prescribed either singly or made into formula which take into account the individual therapeutic action of each herb as well as the effects when combined together. A well constructed formula maximizes the effectiveness for treating a particular condition, while counteracting and minimizing the unwanted effects of an individual herb.

There are many different forms of herbal medicine you can administered: Tea – an infusion of dry herbs in boiling water; Powders – grounded herbs that can be dissolved in warm water; Congees – soups of herbs and rice; Tinctures – herbs soaked in alcohol for few weeks, then extract the liquid out; Pills/tablets/capsules made from herbs, which dissolve slowly in the body. For some serious condition, we suggest you to get raw herbs, cook them for about 30 - 45 mins to make herbal tea.
