We provide a number of Reception desks which have provision for DDA requirements (Disability Discrimination Act 1995). This type of provision can take different forms. It may be that the provision of a low section of desk to enable someone in a wheelchair make eye contact with the receptionist is all that is necessary.
However, if the client has to fill out forms or have longer discussions across the desk then it will be necessary to provide clear legroom under the desk. This needs to be sufficient to provide for unimpeded movement and a turning circle to allow the chair to be rotated.
