Duston Sports Centre
On the site of the former Timken Sports Centre that had been destroyed by a re in 2006 leaving just steel framework and concrete oor, Duston Parish Council started the immense task of thinking about how to begin creation of a new sports hall.Blandfords were proud to be selected as a subcontractor for the new £1.5 million Duston Sport Centre project.Blandfords carried out some major installations on this project, including full electrical distribution and power installations, and state of the art energy ecient lighting. We provided the CCTV/security and re systems, together with data and Cat6 cabling system. The centre opened on Saturday 15 September 2012 and includes a state of the art Trilogy Health & Fitness Gym, a full Fitness Class programme, Main Hall including facilities for badminton, football and basketball, 2 sports pitches and a Bar and function room.Read the full articleAsbestos Regulations 2012The Asbestos Regulations (The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006) have been replaced by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The new regulations were laid before parliment on 5th March 202 and came into force on 6th April 2012. The new regulations affect everyone who owns, manages or has repair and maintenance responsibilities within buildings which contain asbestos. It also affects contractors who work with asbestos.The amendments in the new regulations will introduce an addional category of work with asbestos. The three catagories will be Licensed, Non Licensed and a new catagory of Notifiable Non Licensed.
