Dayley Dance Academy was founded by Mark & Sarah Dayley in Vancouver, WA. Sarah has been teaching & coaching local area dancers and dance teams since 1996. How we began In 2007 a persistent parent group urged Sarah to open a studio that could provide more intensive technique classes to go beyond the dance team season. We began in humble beginnings (our garage studio) and quickly grew to capacity. We have now expanded to reach not only East Vancouver, but also Camas/Washougal, serving two locations. New & Updated for 2012 In spring of 2011, we opened our second dance studio location in Washougal Washington and have been warmly welcomed by the area schools & community. This studio is growing quickly, and we’ve been asked to perform and participate in many local events, parades & venues. We took our 2nd trip to Disneyland to perform this last May with 38 dancers as a part of Disney’s “Performing arts program”. We have also given a home to Illumination Youth Dance Company; a non-profit dance company for ages 6-18 in Clark County. Illumination has become a real passion for our dancers, instructors/choreographers & owners here at Dayley Dance Academy. We have recently introduced contemporary partnering for teens to our repertoire, which has been very exciting and unique to the dance community in our area.

Sarah Dayley:

Sarah has been teaching, coaching & choreographing dance in the Portland/Vancouver area for more than 15 years. Her passion is music, dance, and working with the youth. Sarah received her training at various studios and coaches throughout the Portland area. She has worked with many award- winning choreographers, elite dancers, championship dance teams, and is currently one of the founders/choreographers of Illumination Youth Dance Company in Clark County. ” Dance is a never-ending forum for learning and growth at any age. I continually learn from the instructors and choreographers who teach for and work with our studio…in essence, I am getting the best dance education, because I am always looking for ways to improve upon my lessons, as well as my own personal dance technique”.

Bethanie Coleman:

Bethanie is currently an instructor at Dayley Dance Academy where she teaches Creative Movement, Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, and Contemporary Partnering classes for teens. She has been a choreographer for the Illumination Youth Dance Company for 2 seasons. “I thank each of my dancers. You are truly making my dreams come true. You inspire me to be better and I hope I do the same for you, I love you all!”

Angela Thomas:

Angela Thomas, originally from Sandy, Utah, is new to the Northwest. She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Modern Dance from the University of Utah where she performed with the department’s Performing Dance Company. She also performed with Weber State University’s Orchesis Dance Theater. At the Academy of Ballet Arts she studied ballet for ten years and performed with Mountain West Ballet. Along with eight years of teaching experience, she has choreographed for universities, elementary and high schools, private studios, church groups, and multiple musical theater productions. Angela currently teaches Ballet/Modern, Pointe , and Creative Movement classes at Dayley Dance Academy. She is also a choreographer for the Illumination Youth Dance Company.
