Growing up, I was the little girl who would wistfully look at new mom’s with their precious bundles, and just hope that they would offer to let me hold their beautiful babies. From a young age, I adored babies. I was over the moon excited when my mom told me that at age 5, and again at age 7 that we would have little brothers joining the family. It was the best thing to ever happen to me! I finally had my “own” babies to rock to sleep, wrap up, dress up and fuss over.
When I first entered the professional world of photography, over 11 years ago now, my focus was weddings and engagement photography. I have been so fulfilled in photographing those beautiful events, and I have loved every couple that I’ve met and had the privilege of working with.6 years ago, when I heard the news that my first nephew was on his way…I thought that I had better improve photographing babies. Little did I know, that photographing that little bundle of boy who arrived in the Fall of 2008, would put my photography career on a new track.
Since 2008, I have worked very hard at perfecting my use of natural light, use of props, wraps, knitted hats and most of all, photographing babies. At every newborn session that I have the opportunity to rock a baby to sleep, or pose them for pictures, I am taken back to the days when I would rock my doll babies and my little brothers to sleep. I have endless patience for those precious bundles. Their sweet faces get me every time, and the love their parents have for them is such a beautiful thing to me.
Having just recently moved from Raleigh North Carolina to the Chicago Suburbs, I am so excited to establish my newborn photography in Chicago and the Chicago Suburbs.My hope is to give you images of your sweet baby that you will treasure for a lifetime.
