We love the look of wood siding, but we know that it cannot stand the test of time. It’s not dimensionally stable, it will warp and shrink, and it is subject to irreparable damage from insects. We offer HardiePlank to our clients as a great-looking and more functional alternative to traditional wood siding.
We are Preferred Remodelers under James Hardie, and this means we are subject to specialty inspections, audits and receive a grading score from this company. These products are sadly improperly installed a whopping 90 percent of the time, voiding all manufacturer warranties! With a James Hardie Preferred Remodeler, you get a Lifetime Warranty for both materials and labor.
All of the windows have pros and cons. Wood windows have a great initial appearance but their maintenance can be prohibitive. For most warranties, you have to scrape and paint each year! Aluminum windows are cost-effective but you have to deal with energy and temperature issues, frost and condensation. Vinyl windows look great and are easy to clean, they last a long time and they are cost-effective.
