JBS Heating and Air San Bernardino,“I am enjoying doing what I have always done; helping homeowners.”Joaquin started his career in the Heating and Air Conditioning industry as a service tech in the Coachella Valley over 30 years ago, after completing a certification course at College of the Desert. He later served on the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technical Advisory Committee at C.O.D.
Over the last 30 years Joaquin has been involved in installing, servicing, balancing, supervising and managing tens of thousands HVAC systems. His experience has taken him from residential new construction, multi-million dollar custom homes to various types of commercial buildings. He has been responsible for developing quality service departments as well as managing residential new construction HVAC companies.
In 2004 Joaquin, along with 2 partners, created JBS Heating and Air. Joaquin is the president and owner of one of the most respected HVAC companies in Southern California, JBS Heating & Air. Joaquin is well known in the industry for hard work, integrity, and customer satisfaction. Joaquin considers himself blessed to have a remarkable executive team running the day to day operations of the company, allowing him to still do what he does best, sit at the kitchen table with his homeowners to evaluate, educate and execute their needs personally.
Joaquin and his wife of 30 years, Nancy, reside in Lake Arrowhead. Joaquin and Nancy have 2 children, Casey and Kristin, and the most beautiful granddaughter, Harlyee Faith. Casey and Kristin are also employed at JBS.
In Joaquin’s free time he enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, playing golf and reading biblical books.Tom Babnick, Chief Financial Officer,Appointed Chief Financial officer with JBS Heating and Air in November 2006, Tom oversees all accounting and finance functions. Tom comes to JBS with an impressive background in finance. Tom has a B.A. in Accounting & Finance and an MBA from Cal State University, Fullerton. Over the last 28 years Tom has served as the Director of financial planning & analysis for Disneyland. Tom has brought great financial insight and expertise to JBS Heating and Air.
Tom and his wife, Mary, have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. In Tom’s spare time he enjoys horseback riding and playing with his grandkids. Tom also serves on the board of Detkey Dom Partners as finance chairman. Detkey Dom is a company that promotes the adoption of children from Russia.
Seth Ferguson, General Manager of Residential New Construction,Seth has over 16 years of experience in every area of the mechanical and plumbing field and we are excited to have him as head of RNC for JBS. He is dedicated to providing only high quality service and is committed to excellence in everything he undertakes.
Casey Contreras, Service Manager,Casey holds many certifications that make him a highly qualified member of our team, including: the NATE certification in Service, installation of gas and heat pump systems as well as residential and commercial air balance, system performance and system analysis from the National Comfort Institute.

National Comfort Institute Member,National Comfort Institute (NCI) is one of the country’s top training and certification organizations. NCI started in 1992 as National Balancing Institute, a training organization aimed at helping heating and AC contractors provide comfort throughout homes and businesses using a technique called Air Balancing. This technique, previously only available for large commercial and industrial facilities, was refined to work in smaller buildings and homes to help even out temperatures.
As NCI evolved, the organization widened its scope to include a total system approach to design, installation and service of heating and air conditioning systems. We call this approach, “Performance-Based Contracting”. These contractors are different from the average service company because they do more than simply fix or replace equipment; they also focus on maximizing the comfort, safety and energy efficiency of the systems they sell and service.
