MAST Technologies designs and manufactures a variety of custom-formulated inks, pastes, and caulking materials for use in the aerospace and electronics industries. EMI shielding materials, microwave absorbing materials, low dielectric layers and thermal barriers can be manufactured in many forms, including adhesives, sealants, gap fillers, pastes, and inks.

MAST has adopted several resin systems and filler combinations to provide customized products that meet unique environmental, mechanical, and electrical requirements. Extensive knowledge of conductive, resistive, magnetic, and thermally insulating particles allows for optimization of the electrical performance or thermal insulation character of finished products. MAST’s process design and control ensures that desired physical characteristics (i.e. viscosity, wetting, solubility), are consistently achieved and appropriate for the application method of the end user, including dipping, spraying, caulking, casting or puttying.

MAST Technologies has developed multiple families of high temperature materials for applications where the performance of standard products degrades over time and temperature: MASTer-MAG HT, MASTer-LDL HT, MASTer-THERM HT, and FLAME BREAK DL. Each family is based on a common set of polymers that show excellent thermal resistance at various temperatures, durations, and environmental conditions.

The MASTer-MAG HT series is a family of high temperature electromagnetic interference and radar absorbing materials. The MASTer-MAG HT family of materials is loaded with specialty magnetic fillers and can be optimized for narrowband reflection loss, broadband reflection loss, or surface wave attenuation. The materials are available in vulcanized sheet form or uncured calendared sheets primed for co-cure bonding and vulcanization in a multi-layer material stack. Parts with complex geometries can also be molded with appropriate compression molding or casting tooling.

The MASTer-LDL HT series is a family of high temperature low dielectric materials loaded with specialty glass microballoon particles. Loading levels can be optimized to yield specific dielectric constants or desired levels of thermal insulation. High temperature materials are available in vulcanized sheet form or uncured calendared sheets. Parts with complex geometries can also be molded with appropriate compression molding or casting tooling. Ultra-high temperature materials are available in a flexible spray-on formula.

The MASTer-THERM HT series is a family of high temperature thermally insulating materials that offers excellent thermal resistance while maintaining low thermal conductivity. The MASTer-THERM HT product family is loaded with aerogel particles, which offer thermal conductivity four times lower than glass microballoons and half that of still air. MASTer-THERM HT products are offered in vulcanized sheet form or uncured sheets. Parts of complex geometries can also be molded with appropriate compression molding or casting tooling.

The FLAME BREAK DL series is an ablative flame resistant overcoat material intended to be used as a flame resistant overcoat for other MAST High Temperature (HT) products. The FLAME BREAK DL overcoat material can be spray applied or cast and secondarily bonded in a variety of different thicknesses. Thickness of the application dictates the duration that the material can be exposed to a blast or flame. FLAME BREAK DL materials are available in sheet form or a spray-on formula.

MAST Technologies’ Oriented Wire Elastomer is a solid or sponge type elastomer which is filled with micro-wires providing high levels of EMI shielding effectiveness. Each wire is positioned normal to the flange mating surface and is crimped at the end to ensure proper contact with the surface of the elastomer. The outer silicone provides environmental or pressure sealing, making the entire product useful in industrial, military and commercial applications that require EMI shielding and environmental sealing with moderate closure force.

MAST Technologies’ cellular antenna backlobe suppressors are the latest development in outdoor cellular infrastructure signal attenuation. MAST’s cellular backlobe suppressors are effective at reducing or eliminating undesired cellular radiation from infrastructure antennas.

The most common use cases for cellular backlobe suppressors are for isolation of antennas from cross-talk, reduction of backlobes and sidelobes, antenna pattern improvement, and reduction of unwanted reflections. MAST uses it’s state of the art high loss RF absorbing materials as the core of the absorbing panels, and combines them with an RF transparent shell to ruggedize the assembly for extreme outdoor environments. Cellular backlobe suppressors can be optimized for insertion loss or reflection loss.
